SHEAR Happiness

By Jackey Bell

I thought my readers might be interested in what inspired my post, "Raising Value in Your Client’s Mind … It’s Time to Brag A Little or A lot!" Check my blog this month for the post on SAMVILLA.COM.

I am an active service provider at Shear Art Salon in Tampa, Florida. This year, I was lucky enough to be one of the 10,000 professionals to attend the REDKEN symposium in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The classes were amazing, the shows were fabulous and the people were life changing. Throughout the weekend, I was surrounded by THE top-of-the-line products, THE best of the best business tools and essentials, and THE most inspiring talent that you could not find any where else in the world.

To make a long story short, I have been interested in a pair of Sam Villa shears for a while now. Everyone in the salon has them, I wanted them too, but I really did not know what they were all about. At Symposium, I finally settled my curiosity. I approached the sales women and started asking her questions. If I was going to invest in a pair of Shears, I wanted to make sure I was getting a good “deal” for my money! Just like every other consumer out there.

The sales rep did an amazing job in educating me on the pair of shears that I was holding in my hand. She let me hold them so that I could “hear” and “feel” the difference. I ended up purchasing a pair and I was so proud of my investment. I literally skipped away from the booth and never stopped smiling all the way back to work on Wednesday! My first guest Maggie, looked at me and asked why I was “extra” bubbly that day, and as I was foiling her hair I filled her in on how happy I was to come home with my brand new pair of Sam Villa shears and explained the story.

After I was done she looked at me and said, “Well, I guess I have to get my hair cut now!” She was only booked for a partial highlight. That day, I realized how important that conversation was. By informing Maggie about what I have been up to, I let her know a couple of things:

  1. When she comes to me and sits in my chair, she is being taking care of with the best products out there from the color on her head to the shears that cut her hair!
  2. She can trust that I will make professional investments to better service her!

Maggie not only received REDKEN Chemistry, but also purchased the new Nature’s Rescue! I have not stopped smiling.

This year’s theme at Symposium was to Inspire the future, and I don’t think I would be the only one to say that REDKEN accomplished just that!
